There's a market for it in charter boats, inland crew boats, work boat, etc.

I don't think you'll ever see one hanging off the back of a bass boat. It has no advantage over a gasser other than higher duty cycle and time between overhauls. Not too many people ever run an outboard to overhaul hours.
