It's been too wet, warm, cold and dry to get the prices tracked for this year.

Crawfish are too plentiful this year. And what, with the cost of fuel and all, I wouldn't be getting real excited about this year.

This early season & low gases just means more profit for the farmers.
They ain't gonna charge any less given the demand. Hell Houston alone probably grows the business 5-10% year over year. Texas is starting to really get into crawfish.

Not sure if you read but the price has dropped pretty steady with supply increase, on our end anyway

I'm just saying the money will not be saved by the consumer whether it's the farmer, distributor or retailer.
If so we woild start seeing $.99 a pound pricing well before Easter

Prices are high because of gas prices.

It will pick up soon.
Prices should be more consumer friendly this year, but you better believe wholesalers are going to try to keep prices high for as long as they can. I think supply will help drop that sooner than later this year if we have an early spring.
Those silly capitalist trying to make the most money possible.

With the mild winter, it should be a good year for crawfish. As far as prices, "The catch go up, the price come down" is the old saying. Y'all are right, Texas folk are buying up everything in droves.
