I'll also say I think the books have done a better job building up the sympathy angle then the show has at this point.

I can't believe I didn't find the books years ago, but I didn't know about them before I watched the show.

I've started reading them, but I won't let myself get ahead of the show, because I don't want to mess with that experience.

I do like the show's addition of having him write a letter to Robb warning him of his father's invasion, but then burning it before sending it out. He didn't have a second's thought about betraying Robb in the book until it was too late. Really think he should have done the same thing in the book.
