How much NIL does he have to pay Auburn to get to stay?

To a man, everybody wants that guy gone. They better make his arse stand in front of a jugs machine until he's cured of the dropsies...

"**Disclaimer**: I only know people who know people. Sometimes my info is days old. Don’t take what I say as gospel. If I don’t list their name here I do not know their specific status. I also don’t comment on potential transfer not already expected to be in the portal unless I have reason to do so.

QB: If Byrum Brown is not the QB at Auburn next season I will be the most surprised person here. Expect 1 more QB to come in. Smoke around Arrington Maiden from Memphis.

RB: Jahiem White is coming. He’ll be the change-up behind Cobb who I expect to stay. I believe we have moved on from CJ Baxter. Expect 1 more to come in. Looks like Mabeson is staying. I expect Henderson to transfer.

WR: Brown coming in is good in terms of Cam Coleman. I’m confident in Eric Singleton as your guys know. I don’t expect any of the current guys who have transferred out to come back. Confident we’ll get at least 2 of the USF receivers (Koger, Singleton, Nimrod, Neptune). There’s some others we’re interested in. Sam Turner looking as if he might stay after all. Don’t expect Bryce Cain to transfer.

TE: Preston Howard will probably be back (I know that’s not what you all want to hear). There’s a lot of targets here we are looking at.

OL: I would say better than 50% odds that Lew and Ellis stay. Chaplin is 50/50. This entire room is being built up. Carde Smith is a name currently in the portal to look at.

DL/Edge: I don’t believe we will see anyone major transfer out at this point. Quite a few targets. Experience is being valued here. Traevon Mitchell from USF is a name I expect us to go after.

LB: Woodyard is probably gone. Getting a lot of offers. We will be mostly youth focused here with some experience to go next to Atkins at the start of the year. Jaron Willis and Brayshon Littlejohn are expected names in the portal I’ve heard a little about.

CB: It would not surprise me if one of Crawford or Lee ends up coming back. I wouldn’t say it’s likely that they will, but it wouldn’t surprise me if one of them did. Crawford more likely than Lee. I expect Rayshawn Pleasant to be back. Jarvis Lee from USF of course will be talked about. Ja’Bril Rawls is also someone in the portal being talked about.

S: I expect Winters and Fegans back. Everyone else very much in the air. They would like to bring Anthony and Smith back. There’s guys in the portal they’d also like to bring in. I believe Fred Gaskin from USF will be coming in.

K/P: We’ll be bringing in a kicker but McPherson is projected starter and has a place on the roster for life. Kicker we bring in is for depth and probably someone with multiple years of eligibility for the future. We will be bringing in a punter also. Kaak is staying for now but will have to compete for the job."

It’s actually the exact opposite, with Brown coming in, Daniels had no other choice but to transfer

He played well enough that he should get the opportunity to start somewhere, but, between Brown & Deuce, there's no way he was gonna win the AU job next year.

Even if Durkin had gotten the job, he would have ended up qb2 because they probably would have had to give Deuce the starting job to keep him, imo...

I’m very confident Eric Singleton Jr. will be back next season. I’d put my certainty at 95%. Things are looking good for him to return. My people say he’ll be back. I don’t deal in absolutes as you guys are very aware of. But if all my people say it, then I feel confident telling you guys that I feel that way

"*Disclaimer**: I only know people who know people. Sometimes my info is days old. Don’t take what I say as gospel.

I can say from what I’ve been told that I’m near 100% certain that Byrum Brown will either be in the NFL or be the starting quarterback for Auburn come the start of the 2026 season. Brown has back channeled a deal to come here and it’s in place dependent upon what his draft projection looks like and any last minute offers from other schools. I don’t know the exact number but it’s believed that it’s not one that is breaking the bank.

So what does that mean for Deuce? It appears as though Golesh is willing to pay the NIL for Duece to sit and learn behind Brown for a year. Deuce may/will probably get higher number offers BUT the staff are showing him that they see him as a long term option and want to keep him here, and with a year of development in this system and watching Byrum Brown run it he can achieve huge things. They think Deuce sees this and is very accepting of this because he sees the investment that they are putting in him. It doesn’t mean he is staying here by any means but he is invested in what they are presenting to him and likes what he sees.

As far as Cam goes, he is looking at 2 things (that have already been reported by the writers here): NIL and who’s at QB. Cam loves Auburn. He has already developed a really good relationship with Golesh and Kodi. He has the offer Auburn has given him and he likes it, but he wants to know who is throwing him the ball. He has seen Byrum Brown’s tape and seen the numbers. He is excited for the potential opportunity to play with Brown. I’m not saying it’s all hinging on Brown coming, because he’s got reasons to stay and reasons to leave even if Brown does come. But I’m feeling good about this personally.

I don’t have anything else right now"

Well, he'd definitely have an idea, wouldn't he? They need to get the crazy on3/247 projections under control. I've read several players suggest they're not getting that.

I haven't done a deep dive into those numbers to know exactly what they represent, however, anecdotally, they seem inflated.

This is such a strawman argument.

The pissed off fans have so thoroughly convinced themselves that we should give JC the money that every TD thrown against our defense, next year, will be because we didn't give Jay Crawford 1 million dollars...

X got paid; Crawford didn't. I have to believe there is a reason.

15 tackles
4 pass deflections
1 interception

That's worth $1 million

No, it isn't, in my opinion. The paid boards are unreadable. They are losing their minds. I thought Zac was going to pass out on his live show...

eta: there are actually quite a few over there who agree that he's not worth that much.

Florida is apparently paying close to $3M for GT's backup QB. This era of CFB is fricked

I saw that. I couldn't believe that shite. I don't care if it's for two years, he hasn't done shite, yet...

Was a Michigan commit dude. Clearly he's a talent

Florida, 'Gumps, USCe, and Clemson all wanted him. I know we need, and want, dogs, however, I've seen enough 5* flop to know those rankings aren't perfect.

I'm starting to believe we finally have a coach who grinds tape. If Golesh&Co think he's a baller, I'm gonna ride. I'll admit I'm semi-boogin'

Besides, I've enjoyed stealing things from Michigan since the '84 Sugar Bowl. frick those guys...

Everything I've seen has him headed to Tuscaloosa

JLee cb'd him to Auburn, last night. Everything I've read, which, admittedly, isn't much, says it came down to Auburn vs Michigan
I would say act like you've been there before, but, they haven't....

So is Singleton coming back?

Right now, according to one of the "insiders" on the paid boards it is 51/49 for coming back. There is NIL for him, the coaches want him, and talks between the two parties have gone well.

The poster makes a point to add a disclaimer to any "insider" posts, and no mods have touched the subject, that I've seen.

Personally, I think it's sad that our best shot at getting him for another season is because Hugh shite the bed and tanked the kid's draft stock, but he'd definitely be a nice weapon in Golesh's offense, imho...

A************s said that talks with ESjr have gone better than expected. He is starting to get an idea of what this offense can do for his draft stock. This doesn't mean Singleton is definitely staying, but that he's gone from definitely leaving, to 51% staying.

That, coupled with NIL offers simmons was getting, and Marcus Davis not being retained led to him deciding he was done at AU

He/she always leads with the disclaimer that they only know people, who know people, things can always change, and nothing posted should be taken as gospel

Just thought I'd share...
I've decided, I'm going to choose to believe these guys don't want to do what it takes to be the best.

Don't get me wrong, I know we're going to lose players that I wish would stay, but, these fricking guys went 5-7 last year. Process their lame asses out of here and bring in some winners.

So... this thread is a fun read. Hopefully, the off-season starts later next year.

Didn't Pavia enter the portal with a no-contact? I don't know, but have read, several times, that was the case.

He's thoughtful, well-spoken, and intelligent. I can't believe he wasn't Cohen's first choice. If CG is as good at coaching, evaluating players, and recruiting, as he is at talking ball, we're about to get a lot better. I came away from that Presser thoroughly impressed. It feels like we just got one hell of an upgrade.
