Kids are fine with the canned dough. Just make sure you cook them enough, so they don't taste doughy. Undercooked pigs are not good. Kids may not care for straight mustard. You might consider the straight yellow and yellow with a little mayo to tone it down, ketchup for some kids, a Cane's like sauce since they like that or just buy some.

My preference is a good sausage rolled in some puff pastry that's been rolled on just a bit, so it's not overly puffy. Roll up the link, slice and bake. No cheese please. Have some good mustards out.
