You are absolutely correct and I never said it is not the defenses fault for the loss to ND. It is, along with the offense who couldn't sustain scoring drives to give the defense a rest, and special teams for putting a ball up it's own players arse!!!! So what I am saying is it took a team effort to lay that egg and the team did.

Both offense (per the norm) and defense played poorly

440 yards and 4 TDs is not playing poorly. In fact, if we had put up 440 yards a game as an average we would have been ranked in the top 35 of the nation rather than the 75th we ended up.

John Chavis said "I enjoyed working with the LSU players but I needed a change". I would say he was not very happy with Lester Miles.

To me, it makes no difference WHY John Chavis left.

If it was money, that's business, you win some, you lose some. If he was pissed because of the money, then get in line and join the millions of others in the world who think they should get paid more.

It it was Miles' offensive strategy Chavis didn't like, fine, don't let the door hit your butt on the way out.

But for him to take a phone call from the team luring him away, that is BS. It is beyond professional. And the leaky defense in the A&M game proves he sandbagged his preparation for that game.

He was paid millions by LSU and he leaves pissed off...that's what I call a real sore loser.

Actually, what I'd like to see is no more posts about John Chavis. He is history and no longer part of the LSU nation. The best way to get over him is to forget him, UNTIL the next A&M game.

Ok so you are actually going to count a 100yd kickoff return for a TD as part of our offensive output!!!

I couldn't agree with you more, pretty fricked up!!! Chavis appreciate what you did for LSU while you were here but that was a shitty thing to do to a school that hired you after Tenn fired you and paid you phenomenally and I do mean phenomenally!!

Hindsight is 20/20 but I initiated a thread when he didn't sign his extension and all the other assistant coaches did, that there was something going on and it was not good and it better be taken as serious because it is. Of course the sunshine pumpers went all hostile on me.

Maybe, maybe not. We have all heard that Chief is this loyal upstanding guy, but none of really know the man.

I have refrained from commenting on this, but I do know someone that knew Chavis. I worked with a man that played football with Chavis at Tennessee. After LSU hired him, he commented the we would be getting a good coach, but NOT a good person.

Yeah I don't see that, he gave LSU 6 good years with what he had and under the circumstances "early departures to his unit" and other than the way he left, which does leave a bad taste, he did what he was paid to do.

Sounds right. Think about how sneaky and devious his thought processes must have been to do what he did. His exit was just nasty, plain and simple.

LSU was played. That's pretty mean after being the third highest paid assistant in the United States.

Oh well, it happens. Just wish it would go happen to another team.

When are we getting our money from Chavis? That's what I want to know. I don't think it is petty of LSU at all given the way he handled this.

What does that have to do with being a good person though? My friend knew him in college and afterwards. Many people change their ways as they get holder. He maintained that Chief never did. I have no reason to believe that he made it up and unfortunately I can't call on him now to elaborate, as he passed away two years ago from cancer.

Look I agree with you regarding it was a shitty thing for Chief to do, but c'mon man do you think sirens, bells and whistles should not have gone off in the AD when he didn't sign his extension and everyone else did?

shite there should have been a nuclear warning bell going off and everyone in the AD's office including Miles should have been involved. Not saying it wasn't but that is what should have happened.

frick that if it is petty or not, it is a contract if he owes us money than pay your damn bill. I know if the shoe was on the other foot do you really think Chavis, or anyone else for that matter, would say "nah you keep that 400k I don't need it"

He owes it, he needs to pay it. I can promise you he ain't going to do us any favors going forward. Matter of fact you can bet TAMU is going to be a fricking hard game going forward. Chief knows Les and his offense really, really well you don't think he will be able to game plan against Les. Gives me nightmares already!!!

Who is to say they did suspect something? And if they did, what then? Offer more money? I wouldn't, but would you give the Coach an ultimatum or force him to resign based on a "gut" feeling?

There are some things LSU might have been able to do, but it was CHAVIS who was deceptive. How LSU reacted to it is another matter. But it does not change what CHAVIS did.

Oh well, live and learn.

I am not saying he is or isn't a good person. I agree with it was a shitty way to leave us after I feel we treated him with mad respect!!!! But the 6 years he gave us prior to his departure, I just didn't see anything that led me to believe he was not a good person. I am not going to say one bad event overturns 6 years of good events.

Yeah I would say if they do not get us next year they won't for a long time and if they don't we will never let them live it down.

Gonna be a hard fought game as long as he is there

I agree with this sentiment; however, I'm pretty sure next season a hundred thousand plus LSU fans will be forgetting the 6 years and dwelling on the one event.

Can't disagree with you only to say something wasn't right if they offered a contract for Chavis to sign then imo the two sides must have come to some kind of agreement, wouldn't you think?

So if he doesn't sign the agreement that, sounds like there was some meetings of the minds, wouldn't that ring a nuclear alarm bell in your mind? Especially if we knew, and we did know, that he had other serious suitors. shite that Nuclear buzzer would have gone off until he actually signed the agreement in my mind.

I wish they would have given him a ultimatum sign the deal or no coaching in the bowl game because you are obviously waiting until after the bowl game to leave. We aren't going to let you do that!!!
