IT is the process, nothing specific-too much micromanagement and unwillingnes to provide flexibility. Loyalty to current coaches,

When you are interviewing top candidates you have to remember they are interviewing you also- their observation of the hiring coach and AD - You ask yourself- do I really want to coach under this HC and work for this AD?

If you are a top candidate what you want to hear is "we want you what do we need to do get you to be an LSU Tiger?"

What they do not want to hear is " this is the opportunity of a lifetime-coaching at LSu with the greatest talent- we already have a great coaching staff- if you will come in help us win championships we will take care of you"

Finally a top tier candidate does not want to hear- "YOu are our top candidate but we have some other interviews and we will get back to you "

If you are the top candidate you expect to be reeled in from day one.

Look how quickly other schools are reeling in staff.

I would suppose CP wanting to bring in his own staff was something Les found out in the interview. Otherwise, I suspect he would have never been a candidate.
