I would guess since lots of NFL jobs are open he is hoping for that.
Also one poster said Alleva only wants to give a two year contract so that could of run him off. Might want a longer term commitment.

Yes, he wanted to bring in his own guys and Miles wants to keep his current staffers. Heard this on Matt Moscona this evening.

Honestly, he probably wanted way too much money.
The coaches have the upperhand - the big money agents have pretty much hit the ceiling for HCs - now they're pushing the envelope for assistants.
"Whatever the market will bear" - that, coupled with his desire to pursue one of these NFL spots in the coming carousel.
