Well, we do have the #1 dual threat QB in the country commited to play here next year. So there's that....
Not sure if this has been pointed out yet or not. But if all the rumors of lack of work, lack of effort in film study and what not are true, then maybe the staff has written Harris off. Maybe it was just a clean miss in recruiting. He's only played wb for 2 years before coming here, and possibly he just can't get it. They may be hedging their bets on Franks or Patterson for 2016, and are willing to find a senior transfer for 2015 to get them through, no matter what that means for current scholarship players. Just wild speculation I reckon.

We've had the number one dual threat before and they can't always pass. We have seen Golson be able to pass adequately to cover one year why others develop and or join the team in following recruting yrs.

dual threat, last time we had that guy he played wide receiver, Franks and Patterson are more passing for 2016, that's not tomorrow.

Golson's 3445 yards would be a record at LSU and he didn't play much the last 2 games. In 2 seasons he's accounted for 55 tds (41 passing and 14 rushing) and 6,431 total yards. Also, he has a completion percentage on 59.4 for his career. His adj qbr is 69.7 in his career (72.2 this season with the turnovers). He had 9 games with an adjusted qbr over 69 (Jennings had 3: Sam Houston, Florida, a&m). Golson has had an adjusted qbr under 50 twice ( Jennings 7 times).
In comparison, Jennings had 1,611 yards passing and 292 rushing and accounted for 11 total tds. His adjusted qbr is 45 and completion percentage is 48.9.
The offenses are much different as Golson completed 256 passes, while Jennings only attempted 227, completing 111. The more "careful" Jennings has 12 passing tds to 8 ints in his career. He's also added 2 rushing tds.
It is well noted that Golson turned the ball over way too much. However, he's proven to be efficient and, even though he's not a true running qb, he has had success punching it in on the ground. He's a pro style fit for sure with plenty of confidence to throw the ball up to his guys. Golson's game seems to complement Harris' style much more closely and he could be a good mentor for him having gone through some tough situations. I can't see the argument against him, unless Harris can be close to as good and transfers because of it.

Maybe he's a true freshman playing in the "toughest conference in college football." One coach even redshirted Jamarcus Russell his true freshman year.

Oh, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm not saying that was the case at all. Just a "what if". I would think that if they did accept a transfer, they would have to believe it to be true though. Because while I am definitely not one of the "he's going to transfer" morons, I think in that situation, he would, and the staff would have to know it. Thus, they are counting on either Franks or Patterson for 2016 to be able to come in and lead the team right away. Again, just a wildly speculative thought I had.

How can anyone give credit to Cam when Mett was a polished passer before he got here. Let's talk about how Jennings is worst than his first day here. Let's also talk Cam who was so high on Harris in HS and said all these great things about him. Harris is not the QB everyone was brain washed into believing Cam is in charge of developing the offense and he has failed. Cam is the one who said he could work with Harris and he will be just fine. Not worth the amount of money we are paying him for this pathetic passing game. Just a soon bring in a kid from another school who got beat out.

Yes I do and he was a much better passer than Jennings 2nd year. Mett was a light years ahead of Jennings from day one here. Can you explain why there seems to always be a QB deficiency right now? How can you not put blame on the coach responsible for bringing them in and getting them ready. So you are telling me in one year Cam took an average QB and made him great? So I guess Landry and Beckham had nothing to do with Mett's stats? Mett threw for over 2,600 yards before Cam had anything to do with him. The QBs Cam had from day one and needed to develop are terrible.

You must of not kept up with the recruiting of Brandon Harris and totally missed my point. I'm blaming Cam not Harris. If Harris was with Urban Meyer I'm sure the kid would be playing next week for the national title. Cam is the one telling everyone how he will fit right in this offense and the passing game will flourish under him. Yea that's pretty much brainwashing a fan base. Going on year 3 with Cam and we still have no QB on this roster capable of winning the SEC. Why in the hell Is Jennings not developed by now? Does Cam need 3 years to develop a QB when there are many teams playing starting freshman QB and they seem to be doing fine. BTW I know what I'm talking about.
