Baseball playoffs last year, bases loaded, two outs, full count. Batter swings at curve ball, ball hits the batter's foot and bounces toward one of the dugouts. The batter hops towards first base backwards, pointing to his foot. The home plate umpire signals strike three. In the scramble to find the ball, some 75 feet from the plate, two runs score.
I'm this scenario, and being a playoff game, one would expect the other two base umpires to tell the plate ump about the pitch hitting the batter. However, only two officials showed up to officiate the game. And the base umpire apparently was not paying attention, so the runs were allowed to score, the third runner was allowed to advance and the batter proceeded to first on the third strike passed ball.
Had I been the coach, I would have spent the rest of the game on the bus.
These were Shreceport officials, by the way.

If I am interpreting the rule correctly, it should have been ruled dead ball and strike three when being hit by a ball during a swing and a miss.
