You're asking for too much; most people need things spelled out for them. You should never make people read between the lines, either; it never ends well. I made a joke in another thread saying that I walked on for a non-existent football program and saw harder hits than the ones I see in football today (this was a criticism of how defenses are handcuffed nowadays). I don't think anyone got it, although one person pointed out that the program didn't exist (Stetson, "a decade ago", although I did attend Stetson and am a Hatter!!!).
