Once again... Another crappy field in a bowl game

On 98.1, Gordy Rush just said that the field is terrible. This makes about three or four bowl games on crap fields in the last 5 or 6 years. The Penn State, Iowa games come to mind.

make BCS bowls (or whatever they're called now) or the playoffs and this won't be a problem.

Nothing could ever be as bad as that Cap One field.

NOLA .COM said the field is in great shape and Miles was relieved is not the same turf as against Penn St.

The Shitrus Bowl in Orlando received significant upgrades, based in part on the national disgrace of the PSU–LSU bowl game. The stadium and the field are quite nice now.

So are we already putting an excuse in place for when we lose 13-7?

natural grass is pretty lousy in December after rain. but it works like that for both teams. It does seem to favor the irish tho as we like to play man a lot.

It rained last year in Tampa. What in the hell is the grounds crew supposed to do to prevent the filed from being torn up? (especially after it had been used for a full NFL and college season). This seems to be the same issue there in Nashville.
The only truly horrible field was the Penn St. game where the Citrus Bowl attempted to put in new turf for the game only to be hit with below avg temperatures leading up to the game and heavy rain on game day. Outside of that LSU has played in domes.
Both teams have to play on the same field and LSU has a "Big 10" offense according to everyone here. So what's the problem?

When you have a crap season you get a crap Bowl game on a crappy field. The fact this is happening more frequently is very telling.
