This kid should have been in a read spread option type offense to utilize his explosiveness

He wasnt that explosive. He ran a 4.37 shuttle and 7.09 3 cone. Both would finished in the bottom 3 in most drafts.

Then, you would have him take a 5 yard pass around scrimmage and turn it into a 65 yard TD

This ,literally, never happened. His longest career rec was 37 yards. You posters just make shite up to bash the coaches.

He wasn't that explosive.
So we're using combine drills to gauge someone's explosiveness. Talk about a load of bullshite!

And the game I saw him take a simple swing pass and explode downfield diving into the endzone was real, brah. Can't remember the name of the school they were playin at the time, but it doesn't matter.

Stop hatin and downplayin the kids skilss. If he wasn't this and that like u tryin to say. he wouldn't be in the NFL right now, moron.

The Broad and Vertical are better measures for explosion. Shepard put up good numbers on both jumps. Vertical - 38.5", Broad - 10'2".

I saw a range of 40 times reported from the Pro Day, but the consensus is in the 4.4 range. That's explosive.

I'm guessing that RS didn't practice a lot specifically for the Shuttle and 3-Cone, so he didn't have real good drill-specific form during the Pro Day on those. It's obvious to me that he could clock better times than what he put up. Shep didn't have elite moves, but he had good quickness and change of direction on the field.
