I don't remember anyone being upset that Shepard wasn't playing QB, since everyone was pretty convinced that he was no quarterback. For me, I was just mystified that they could never seem to find a way to get him involved more. There were lots of games where he never seven saw the field, but he has NFL talent that was pretty much wasted at LSU.

He was sitting behind James Wright, Jarvis Landry and Odel Beckam, not to mention Kadron Boone and Travin Dural. But yea, you'd have sat some of those dudes to play Shep.

Shep was not the first LSU player who was not properly utilized in college, but had at least some NFL success.
Remember place kicker Wade Richey who struggled at LSU, thanks to poor special teams coaching. But the NFL quickly corrected his technical flaws and he became a solid pro kicker for a few years.
