This was a good thread on this very concept on the pope's misunderstanding of greed and how it drives capitalism and thus being a net positive for everyone.

using the "g-word" in that context will draw ire, but we have to look at what "greed" means
does being "Greedy" mean to believe that if you create a product or service that helps people, and they're willing/able to pay, then you should benefit for that product/service? does being "greedy" denote a desire to own more than is necessary to sustain life at a certain level?
