I like your optimism ipodking and NDs defense isn't very good. However, I'll have to see it to believe.

You mean against possibly the worst defense in the SEC? And we STILL couldn't pass the ball and they were horrific.
Back to OP, Jennings last shot will be whatever mediocre bowl game he starts in his senior year. Leslie is a stubborn hard headed man

Jennings had a generally atrocious year. That said, he played well against A&M, and if does so again this week, it's going to be hard not to start him next seaaon with Harris's lack of playing time.

LSU will barely beat Notre Dame and Jennings will be praised by the pumpers and Miles for getting the job done. He'll have the lead in the spring.
Truth is, Notre Dame is a terrible team. They lost the last four games which include: Northwestern, USC, Arizona State, and Louisville.

Jennings will be the starter next season and he'll still be a really bad SEC qb

So are we all to hope for a crap game by the Tigers, even possible a loss?
Sorry, not me...

What anyone hopes for doesn't matter. Nor does Jennings performance. We've seem some of the worst QB play since the forward pass was invented now through two starters (with a brief but glorious reprieve with Mett) that only lost their spot when the DA took the last one out of the lineup. And that isn't going to happen here, because Jennings seems like a good kid that really does try his best. Unfortunately for him he just isn't very good. Fortunately for him, Les don't care.

In what universe is this consider good stats? There have been probably a million times this season where other qb's have had better stats than this in a single quarter. I am so sick of the Jennings out works Harris in practice/film room argument. I mean wtf does that matter if it doesn't translate on the field. Shid I can come in and practice and watch twice as much film as Drew Brees but there is no way in hell Payton is going to start me. I DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS TO BE A SUCCESSFUL QB.The same can be said about Jennings as a passer he lacks the tools.

Like him or not, Jennings always has a good attitude and puts the team first. He is a good leader he just can't play QB in the SEC. I like the kid, just wish he was a functional QB.

Sure needs to be.
It's time for this kid to either do something or get out of the way.

That may already be affirmed.

Probably not his last shot. If Harris is the clear cut better QB going into 2015 I believe we will likely see a two QB system, at least, initially next year.

I am beginning to think LSU has no option EXCEPT Jennings.
Those who see a raw, rocket arm in Harris may never understand that the arm, alone is never enough..
The job was Harris' for the taking, but his ego, lack of work ethic would not let him seize it.

This is the exact quote from the article:
So he's basically saying nothing at all.
Your thread title is misleading.
quote:So what he's saying is it's Jennings' last shot to be the clear #1 heading into next spring.
For Jennings to be LSU's clear-cut No. 1 quarterback entering spring practice, Tuesday's tilt against the Fighting Irish is his last chance.

We're trying to rationalize this using statistics, development, maturity, etc.
Let's remember who our coach is. There was no rhyme or reason for JJ to play when he did and there hasn't been any legitimate excuse for Harris not seeing a little quality time this season.
Miles plays by his own rules and nobody is ever going to figure that out. He has been a good coach but has his own strange quirks which are hard to understand. His press conferences are a complete waste of time.
Statistically AJ was one of the worst QBs in the nation. When you consider the enormous talent surrounding him, that's a telling stat yet Miles kept giving him the nod.
I'm preparing myself to see AJ at QB next season and expect 3-4 losses. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

Jennings starts the next 2 seasons and LSU will lose several games each year due to a total lack of a passing attack. Worse QB than JJ.

Miles has set up the program to be a consistent winner. that will be his legacy. win lots of games. every once in a while win one that actually means something. in the end the numbers will look good, but teams like Auburn will win more championships but also have more terrible seasons in between.
