And the StrongSafety rhetoric about knowing so many white kids who've "done worse". Blah blah blah. He must run in some bad circles because among the people I grew up with, you might've chosen to act an arse but what Brown did was DAMNED uncommon to the point of non-existent.

You'd be surprised about how far that statement of yours is from the truth.

I've definitely seen kids do worse than take some items from
A gas station and escape with their lives and move on to be successful and productive adults.

All the kids at my university that used to steal and loot from our cafeteria would get punished with community service or with forced cleaning service of the university ground. College really just told me that the only difference between the privileged and the non privileged is resources to get out of trouble: mental health, education, health, etc.

I have arrested tons of the same kids that have gone on to productive lives. Guess what? They didn't resist arrest nor did they pull a gun on me.

If you really believe all the crap you're posting in this thread, then you should have also learned one other very important truth:

if you do not have the resources of the privileged, then you shouldn't do those things that are going to get your arse in hot water.

By your standards, I'd say I grew up in a privileged home. Dad worked. Mom stayed home and took care of the kids. If I so much as talked back to a teacher, my arse would get lit up when dad got home. We were taught right from wrong and to respect authority. That didn't mean agreeing with authority - just respecting it.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for a man who robs a convenience store then assaults a cop and ends up dead as a result. I also have no sympathy for a man who aims a gun at a cop and ends up dead as a result. I do weep for the thousands, if not millions, of kids whose parents are at this very moment teaching their children that Michael Brown is some kind of martyr for the cause. Those kids will grow up bitter and with little to no respect for the law, and their lives will suffer because of it.

I'll give you that isolated poor decision-making shouldn't be a full indictment of someone's character, but a pattern of bad behavior is certainly indicative of a person's character.

Sure, people can MOVE ON to become better people. That doesn't change that when they were committing the acts, they weren't good people.

While stealing is bad regardless, that you equate the stealing you cite with strong arming an owner as if you have some sort of right to his shite is telling.

Have you seen the video of the cop falling back and firing? He drops his service piece in the process and his first instinct is to run away with his head down looking for cover behind the gas pumps because he didn't know if he had incapacitated Martin. Why would he do that if Martin didn't have a gun? Cop was running for his damn life.

Does that register anything to you?

ETA on second viewing may be a flashlight he dropped. Hard to tell. Point stands either way.
