Agreed.

But now you're on my radar. Be careful when you post "non-military" related topics.

I believe you. But I'm telling you, if you haven't already noticed, there are a group of assholes on TD who must spend a disproportionate amount of their life waiting for Darth to post so they can jump in and try to frick with him.

I have trouble keeping up with "OT politics"

They seem to change quite wantonly... But that's nothing new.

I actually just read mention of it again while reading Killing Patton.

Been listening to it on my drives to work. The information is great. I always figured that the RAF plane that tried shooting down Patton's plane was a russian screw job.

Well, they're in MY head! It pisses me off.

Maybe I'm just an OT contrarian, but I don't think you're just the world's fastest googler. I enjoy military history, know a fair amount about it, and I think you actually know your shite. I enjoy your history posts because they often include details I'm not familiar with. However, I don't enjoy some of the regulars you attract.

You do know who ordered the 101st into Bastonge?

none other than the VIII Corps commander, Troy Middleton (yes the guy that the LSU Library is named after)

What kind of question is that? Of course he knew that!

Actually I didn't know that but thanks for thinking I probably did.

( I intended to reply tho this a while ago but got distracted by the trolls)

I like how the Germans didn't understand the reply and asked what it meant. One of the Americans told him it means "Go take a flying shite!"

Your post reminds me if one of the more odd aspects of the German winter offensive in 1944....
Panzer Brigade 150

Those are German Panther tanks modified to look like American M10 tank destroyers.

Yeah that's a strange story... hard to believe they never figured out who was flying it. The pilot flying Patton's plane was a BAMF though.
