quote:no its. Not when youre handing the ball to a rb having the 2nd greatest rushing season in lsu history. Top 12 IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY IN YARDS PER PLAY says we werent conservative at all. Only 8 teams out of 126 scored more points per play. Thats not conservative. So stop sayjng it. FACTS PROVE YOU WRONG. Not my opinion. Facts. Do i need to explain what a fact is.
when you almost always run on 1st and 2nd down and only throw when you have to, that is a conservative offense

Yes explain it. What you a are doing is posting statistics to justify your opinion.

when the defense is putting 9 in the box because they know you are going to run the ball it is conservative. Just think of what he could have gained if they didn't know what was coming and weren't stacking the box. Think of how great the passing game could have been if we weren't for the most part just throwing the ball when the defenses knew we were going to throw. That's all I'm saying. We should have been trying to get the most out of personnel and going for greatness on offense to make up for the defense we had last year that wasn't up to usual LSU standards. The goal at the beginning of every year should be to try to win the SEC west first and foremost and not just say this is a rebuilding year. Last year it was the defense, this year it was the offense, next year the excuse will be the o-line. It's always something. That's why you have to maximize what you do have. It's college football, every year your going to have some weekness. We don't have the luxery of having #1 rated recruiting classes each and every year but we do have enough talent to work with.

you need to get away from hyperbole and attempts at insults. I know I sometimes get frustrated and go there myself but am trying to be a better person. You should also. It really doesn't accomplish anything.

This x a big# exp big#.
A lot of the criticism directed toward Les is unwarranted. But this is one is full of merit. Les needs to frame wins and losses in terms of how they affect our prospects of getting to Atlanta, GA. But he doesn’t. Les takes an atomistic approach, i.e., every game is a self-contained conquest for “victory.” It’s part and parcel of his football philosophy. What ought to happen is for Les to use every interview opportunity to foster a culture of playing for championships.

Run Run Pass and maybe punt

Being on the West Coast, my selection of early game viewing was the Bengals vs. Browns game. I know a lot has been said since Sunday regarding the Defensive Staff of the Bengals watching LSU vs. aTm tape....but watching the Bengals Offensive had me thinking LSU offense. If you haven't watched that game, do so and that should answer your question.
ETA: LINK Link to box score. Notice the 45 rushing atts. to 24 passes and the TOP 38 to 21. When the offensive and defense are clicking this should be a good example of the results. Hope this helps answer your question.

That did not happen last year. We did not consistently run into 9 man fronts. It did this year

Na I'm posting facts that prove we werent conservative last year.

Na. Met throwing the ball more than every qb except 5 in the Sec, and almost setting the the lsu passing record proves we were not conservative.deal with it.

Like we did against Georgia? Who won that game?

Its mind boggling how LSU fan werent happy with our 2013 offense. Mett was 260 yards away from throwing for more yards in a season than any lsu qb, EVER and JHill was setting the sec single season ypc record.WTF.

We averaged 68 Plays per Game last year..
25 Passing
43 Rushing
No coach in the country at ANY level WANTS his QB to throw 30 times a game.
People like to point out that we had an NFL QB and two NFL WRs on our team last year. We also had two NFL RBs... or more depending on Magee and Hillard, though I wouldn't expect either to play outside of ST as an NFL rookie.

They act like handing the ball to JHill was just some conservative plays. How many times did we see JHill break 50 yard runs? Id be willing to bet JHill had as many 40+ yard runs than any LsU rb in a 2 year span..he did it almost every other game.

You never know with rbs though. Who wouldve guessed Alfred Blue would be more successful than TRent Richardson.

No. You are posting statistics to justify your opinion.
My opinion is that LSU was conservative. I'm basing this on the fact that they attempted so few plays and ran the ball 62% of the time. I can use stats to justify my opinion but that doesn't make it anything more than my opinion.
Also, previously held LSU individual records are irrelevant to a discussion comparing LSU's offense to the rest of the SEC or CFB in a given season.
