A 43-year-old man was stabbed Wednesday night (Dec. 18) after being robbed and attacked by a group of eight men in the French Quarter, police said.

According to preliminary police reports, the victim and two other men, both 21, were walking in the 1000 block of Gov. Nicholls Street about 10:13 p.m. when they were approached by the group, who police say were armed with weapons.

Three men in the group brandished knives, police said, and stabbed the 43-year-old man several times. The group then robbed all three of the men and fled the scene with their belongings, police said.
