Hahahha! What is it that she thinks she can contribute to a company for them to justify paying her a salary (150k/yr) that typically most Americans will never earn after working in a career their entire life. That just affirms her delusion. No offense to her character but she's clearly not living in reality.

But seriously-what is it that she's applying for? Like..does she know what most people in the real world, even in specialized careers like engineering, actually make?

Eta: it doesn't matter what your degree is in outside of things like medical and technical specialties. Mine is equally as useless in the workplace (poli sci).

Oh, I think there is a definite disconnect there. But she is moving to a bigger city, still living in ann arbor. and she thinks that will make the difference.

She wants to get into some sort of international consulting/finance. She is definitely qualified, she does speak 7 languages fluently.

Every generation that comes along is seen as lazy as balls by the generations that came before them. Go back to the days of the cavemen and I am sure you would find arguments over whether Ogg will finally amount to something.

The Millenials will do OK when it is their turn to shine I'm sure. They will, however, start off way in the fricking hole when it comes to servicing their massive student debt. Major purchases like homes and new cars will get put off as will things like settling down and starting a family.

So even though they may be busting their butts trying to make ends meet they'll seem like slackers because they are still living in the basement or haven't gotten married or what have you.
