So playing hot in here is paying homage to Nelly?

Oh sorry. I was comparing the zeppelin cover to the jiggy cover. No, you're right. The Nelly and the Jiggy cover are in same vein.

I like WSP. Knew several members of the band in the early 90s. Worked at The Uptown Lounge tending bar with Nances wife. Cool dudes who were fun to get high with for sure. But I don't ever recall being inspired by any of them or their music. How were you inspired?

They inspire me to persevere through the hard times in life and to put your heart into what you believe in.

BTW, I apologize for my Split Open and Melt, .jpg. I just thought it was funny to put a Phish "melt" reference in there with your tirade. I've seen Panic tons of times, and I like their music. The Panic/Phish rift is something that always existed with my group of friends, and it's something that still entertains me even though I'm not really into jambands anymore.

My general feel is that Phish are much, much better musicians who can improvise and play far more interesting stuff live. JB, though, can write more meaningful lyrics that any member of Phish, and I've always enjoyed his songwriting. I just get really bored when I see them live.

Honestly, it's the one thing that's always eluded Phish. I remember in the mid-90s, Trey was obsessed with writing something poppy that would be able to catch the public's fancy. He would even talk about how hard it is to write a good, hook-driven pop song that really resonates with people.

I'm not saying that Panic has ever really done that, either, but accessible music isn't Phish's forte.

Trey is always trying to progress.

Which is a weakness for phish.

I'd agree with this except for the getting bored part. Although I don't think Dave and JoJo are far behind.
