NYT and USA Today both have articles that lower gas prices is going to hurt Obama's booming recovery. They never explain why. They just keep saying "The decrease is too fast."
I did read one article that made sense in WSJ. They said Americans are starting to buy bigger gas guzzling cars in recent months. Bad idea since the price of gas will eventually go up again.

Bought a big gas-guzzling F150 back in August - hope the gas prices continue to spiral downward!!
Cheapest gas I remember is in Ft Worth in 1958 - gas war and there were stations selling it for .09 / gallon
