Just don't see Texas to the pac 12 working out very well. If you are a Texas high school recruit, do you want to playing west coast teams, or competing against teams in southwest or SEC country?
Just seems like a bad fit which could hurt them from a recruiting perspective.

I think it would be badass to play away games at USC, UCLA, Oregon, Stanford, Washington, etc.

Where could Texas go (other than staying put in a floundering conference)? The SEC isn't going to extend an invitation and jeapardize conference unity and contracts to add a well known conference killer like Texas.
The Big 10?
The ACC?
Your argument is almost the same for every other conference except the SEC, and you better believe that A&M would veto Texas admission.
