Baylor would be stupid to NOT be putting out feelers. The Big 12 could be a dead conference walking, and everyone is going to be left scrambling if/when Texas bolts for the Pac-12. If Texas feels they cannot compete for the national title on a fair footing with other programs, they will take off, and likely take OU with them. They'll pay off the grant of rights somehow.

It won't happen this year. And it probably won't happen next. But if another Big 12 team gets hosed, the most likely scenario is Texas bolts pre-emptively with OU. OU will take OSU with them, and to go to 16, the Pac-12 will accept either Texas Tech or TCU as a bit of a poison pill (more likely to be Tech because they are a public school).

This leaves the other schools in scramble mode. Kansas likely can find a home in the Big Ten in this scenario, maybe taking KSU with them. I don't know their AAU membership status.

That leaves TCU, Baylor, WVU, and Iowa St trying to either get an ACC or an SEC bid. WVU has an in on the ACC, and the AC might just say WVU and make ND a full member. Baylor needs to start laying the groundwork NOW for the Apocalypse. It's not coming right away, but it is coming. The ACC is a more likely lifeboat than the SEC, which would be even better, but I don't think there's much interest on the SEC's end.

Just don't see Texas to the pac 12 working out very well. If you are a Texas high school recruit, do you want to playing west coast teams, or competing against teams in southwest or SEC country?

Just seems like a bad fit which could hurt them from a recruiting perspective.

The good ol boys in NC aren't fans of WVU due to our academics. (cough unc) Maybe by letting Louisville in they would think about us this time but I would't get my hopes up.

It seems to me the GOR would still put a stop to this. The remaining ISU, KSU, TCU, Tech, type schools just have to invite a couple replacement midmajors to remain a conference and then they can claim the financial rights to OU, Texas, etc for more than a decade.

The Big 12 does look unstable but the GOR has put off the collapse for a decent period of time IMO.
