Funny how it's almost never the pillars of the community who get into these incidents, isn't it?

Yeah that mayor whose house was raided and his dogs killed when the cops got address wrong. He was a real TPOS all right LINK

As well as the 18 month old who had his face blown off by a stun grenade. He was gonna be a terror to the community once he learned to walk. I won't bother linking that one. Maybe you've heard of it.

If you don't hold law enforcement to a standard when dealing with Everyone, pretty soon they won't be held to a standard when dealing with Anyone. As we've seen over and over.

I have not seen this "over and over" = All I have seen are ridiculous faux 'outrage' over stupid instances like Michael Brown and now Eric Garner.

There was a legal reason to arrest Garner. He resisted arrest. His own health problems led to his death. Period - end of story.

There are three ways to have avoided this = 1) don't commit crimes, 2) don't resist arrest, 3) don't let your self get into such bad shape that you die while making two consecutive bad decisions.

Without being able to see into the future, there is nothing the cops could have done better to avoid this.

1 - if Garner had run, he would have probably dropped dead from the exercise.
2 - If they had Tazed Garner, that would probably have stopped his heart or he could have broken his head when he hit the concrete, or his weight could have caused him to stop berating when he fell to the concrete.
3) - they could have backed off and shot him.
?
?
?
so you fill in what they could have done with this obese 6'5" man with asthma and heart trouble who was violating the law?

Just ignore it? ==== that would be the best thing to do, but then you have to go to Mayor DeBlasio and ask HIM why he ordered them to arrest the man?

OR - do you think DeBlasio's orders said something like "I want these tax-evading illegal cigarette sellers arrested - UNLESS you think they are unwilling to be arrested"

SO = what SHOULD the cops have done??

There's a lot of truth in this statement.
