Thinking about getting a group (10+) together for the "Big Night" NYE party at the Hyatt in Nola? Would be $100/person for us.

Have heard that in previous years the drink lines were extremely long and inconvenient. Can anyone share any stories to refute / confirm this?

why not just get those same friends together at someone's house and spend that money on booze, food, and fireworks and have a blast?

i dont understand why people pay out the arse to spend new years eve with hundreds of strangers

How about each of you give me $100, I'll kick you in the nuts, and call it a day!

I went last year and the lines for drinks were crazy long. I remember spending most of the night hanging out in the line waiting on a drink.

I went to a bar that was full of women. Only paid for drinks, and the lines weren't long. Honestly don't ever plan on paying for a crowded arse shitty party

Pay 200 a ticket and go to the WWII museum instead (dinner included).

I went last year. It was alright, I guess. Got drunk, banged the old lady relentlessly. No different than any other night minus fancy clothes and fireworks.

The few times I have found myself at these type of parties, I felt like the biggest sucker. Sure they are marginally fun but not at all worth the price tag.

As others have mentioned, getting those same ten people together for a nice dinner and plenty of drinks would be much more enjoyable.

After doing NYE parties in Nola, I never wanted to do another new years eve party again. Miserably crowded and not nearly as fun as just getting those poeple to do something actually cool.
