What's a fair price for tree removal? (3 already downed pecan trees)

I have 3 already downed pecan trees laying paralel on my lot.
They aren't enormous, but the pile of the three are about the size of a school bus with the cluster of branches.
Any idea what to expect as a quote to have it cut up and hauled off?

I'd put the word out that you had pecan trees and whoever wants them can have them. Wouldn't cost you a dime. Pecan wood is highly desirable in smokers and grillers

If someone wants it I'll come help you load it up.
We'll need a chain saw.

I called one guy and he wanted 1,000
I called another guy from down the bayou that supposedly gets it for free to sell as firewood and they wanted 300-500

I agree that your best route is to have someone come and get the big stuff for firewood...
trouble is, there is still gonna be a hell of a mess of limbs, etc, there to clean up...either you have to pay full price for someone to chip it all up or deal with the slower process of having one individual take the big stuff and another come by and chip the limbs...

That pecan wood is almost gold. Cut it up into small enough pieces and sell it for smoker wood. Sell it to local nurseries, Lowe's, Home Depot, local convenience, hardware, and grocery stores. Or just sell it yourself. Sure wish it was here in my part of Virginia. I'd be on that like ugly on a go-rella.

I really can't believe someone wouldn't just come get it for free. Pine, sweet gums or red oaks I could understand but pecan? If you were closer, me and a few friends would have those trees cut, split, stacked and drying by evening.
Good luck!
