Cubs re-signed Jason Hammel less than a year after trading him to the A's. So the Cubs get their pitcher back PLUS keep the prospects they got from the A's. What exactly are the A's doing? They were one of the better teams in the AL the past two years and now it seems they've questionably gone into rebuild mode.

Hammel was also 2-6 with a 4.3 ERA in Oakland. He was turrible for them.

The Athletics have one post season series win in the past 20+ years. I guess they were tired of falling short and Beane made some moves to try and win it all... only to come back and bite them in the arse.
