how many teams has actually won the NC with high flying O? None, although I do want our passing game to be a lot more productive, I do think having an O like Baylor, Oregon, Arizona would be fun to watch, but not get us to the NC like we would like because our D would be on the field to much! Like it our not Defense does win championships. In a pass happy O you hurt yourself worse missing 3 straight passes than 3 straight runs up the middle because of stoping the clock. Look I pray for miles to open the O up more but not go to no fast pace spread or pass 40+ times a game you need ball control and good D to win!

Our defense is on the field to much as it is because our offense blows. I would rather have an offense that can score and let our defense work with a comfortable lead for once

People don't understand when people are clamoring for offense they are not talking about wanting an A&M or Oregon offense. I for one would like a competent pro-style balanced offense. Dynamic within the passing game and dynamic within the power run game philosophy. Multiple formations, pro-style route combinations, a modern blocking scheme. Throwing to the middle of the field, misdirection, unpredictability, etc. For instance say what you want about UGA but I think they have a great offensive system and QB development. They usually have no problem moving the ball/putting up points their issues are always on defense. Their offense would be a perfect compliment to our defense and wouldn't take away from our physicality.

Worked out well for us last time we went to the 'ship. We proved you don't need to even cross the 50 to keep the game close.

I don't think anyone wants a high flying offense. We just want a passing game that is capable of completing > 50% of passes and capable of throwing for > 200 yards per game. This really shouldn't be too much to ask for, and does not mean a high powered O.

What is it with you morons that think you can't have an offense and a defense? People have been trying to make a point about the deficiency Miles seems to have with his teams and it's at QB mostly. So really all we need to see is production there and we have another title in 2011.

Someone point out that Sumlin can pass every year no matter the QB and then some idiot says "well what has he done? No Defense, you can have it I don't"

Well, translation for you idiots is that people are pointing out that other coaches can find consistency at QB, so why can't LSU? They have the defense, and its LSU, so it will stay a trademark of LSU> YOU think a new coach is going to come in here a tell the NFL defensive talent growing out in the back yard to "get the frick out of here...this is air raid central now!" No........!

Just looking for a solution to get that last piece of the puzzle that makes this team as dominant as any other in the country....here's a hint- Starts with a Q and ends with a B.

Are there other issues, sure. O-line isn't great, special teams has dropped off....However, the 1 glaring spot....QB. It's the sole reason for a few key loses over the years.

How about Auburn in 2010 and FSU last year? Pretty big O's.

The offense has to get better, in order for LSU to win a NC period.

An Offense that averages 200 yds a game with a 60% completion percentage is all LSU needs.
