but he's not the first fat guy to die of something like this. I wouldn't have convicted the cop of a crime.
You watched the same video I did and you're pinning this on the guy's weight??
This is a terrible tragedy, but the (minuscule) silver lining is we're seeing who the true dumbasses are here on the Poli Board.

Cops are put in a tough position by politicians and apathetic populous.

but if someone is defending the cop on this one

Um, if you catch someone fricking your wife and kill them in a rage, that's 2nd degree murder
This is more manslaughter but let's not bother with semantics. He killed this guy, he's a murderer

I'll see you and raise you.
Civilians are killed by poorly trained and overzealous cops.

If you want to debate the mechanics and semantics of the arm placement and what move that is called in wrestling, let's move that shite to the WWE thread on the OT
What a joke of a point of distinction to make.

What if it was an elderly man
Is anyone here claiming he died of old age?

It doesn't matter what you call it.
What would you prefer it be called? Just say it rather than dancing around on the head of a pin.

And second degree murder is still intentional.
I think this was a major screw up by the cop. But it wasn't murder.

Am I the only one on here that doesn't give two fu$/s about someone or what happens to someone when a cop or LEO tells you to get down on the f ing ground... You get down on the f ing ground.
It isn't bargaining time...it isn't negotiating time...it isn't plea your case time...it's time to get your arse on the f ing ground time

You say this, but you tweet to not understand the distinction between 1st and 2nd degree murder
This is 2nd degree at worst, manslaughter at best
and he walked because he's a cop

I'm guessing you didn't even peek at the link. I keep seeing people saying the cop went against department policy. Nobody wants to discuss that at all.
Posted on 12/3/14 at 9:59 pm to lsuroadie
Was he not on the ground? Were there not 4 (5?) officers pinning him down and cuffing him?
You're telling us you watched that whole video and saw nothing wrong with what the cops did?

Reasonable expectation. Choke someone and sit on their neck, what do you expect?
I wouldn't be thrilled with a 2nd degree murder charge, by definition its criminally negligent homicide or manslaughter
In my eyes, that makes him a murderer

Department policy is to not apply any force to the neck

Isn't the cause of death relevant?
Did he die from asphyxiation?

Where's your medical degree from and how many autopsies have you participated in?
1. The question was the type of hold. No one who's taken mixed martial arts would call that a choke.
2. The autopsy didn't call asphyxiation as the cause of death. He died because he was in a struggle and it was toouch for his heart. I can recall at least 2 other deaths where a criminal died similarly. Also my company had a senior executive who died while being kidnapped from similar causes.
