I would at least split with the kid, if the dad was being cool about it, however I would point out that it was a non-fatal shot and that all it would have done is injure the deer.
If the dad is a dick then tell the GTFO and learn to shoot.
Either way someone needs to point out shot selection. Way to many people never learn this.

If I was the other hunter, I would give the deer to the kid. If I was the dad I would say tough titty and bring him back to the range
