Money should absolutely be given to the University. Football programs should be treated like an investment as the school must fund the program to kickstart it. Bama does indeed have an advatage here, but that doesn't make it right. They are ok with it because they have no soul. (They have both a ginger and a midget so it's not even debatable)

It gives everyone not named LSU a financial advantage.

According to USA Today, LSU is the only SEC school that doesn't receive some sort of subsidies. And the donation made to the University is the only one of its kind.

May be the right thing to do, but it is a financial hit that other ADs don't have to deal with.

I love when my school's team wins football games, but in no way would I want LSU's program and its fan base to be like Alabama. I like football--it is very fun to watch. Those people take it way past fun. I don't want any part of that.

Explain please?

We are not talking about a school just starting a program. Both LSU and Bama are established programs that were started well over a 100 years ago. If anyone wants to bring the SLU argument, their program was kick started entirely with private funding. This was a requirements by the state before football was allowed to be brought back.
