That Rick has done way more horrible things and is willing to go further than her to protect those with him. If you can't gather that then you haven't been watching the show.
I refuse to believe she is some genius and badass when all she does is chill inside a hospital.

I know that people in the hospital hate her and she apparently got to power somehow, so who knows maybe she is a psycopath
ETA: Point is that the previous episodes and the description could make perfect sense in this episode
