This is a good thread, dude. Let me try to be as concise as I can.
Most whites don't believe they are racist *and rightly so, in my opinion. Nevertheless, over and over and over the dominant voices in our public discourse act like the racism against blacks in this country is THE problem. Because of this, whites take it personally, thinking, hey, frick you buddy, I'm not racist. But that notion is dismissed. Feelings hurt, the white person goes, shite, man, who is really causing more problems for the average black person? The average cop? The average white? Or the average black? You know how they answer that.
So the resulting thought is, "this is a bunch of fricking bullshite." WQhen you watch CNN with that thought in mind, you notice more the glossing over of facts, the overbroad statemetns not based in fact, and the cynical, misinformed hypocrisy. And then when you see, yet again, smiles and laughning while stores that had nothing to do with the shooting, getting burned and looted, white people are like WTF.
So, not concise at all. My bad.

Here's the problem.
There is the perceived. And then their is reality.
Yes you can think you're not racist (not you or any of these people in particular) but when statistics show their is still a large large disparity for minorities in every realm of life, and then you see the disingenuous these comments, it makes you wonder if they are just repressing what they can't say in public .
