But when the season is pretty much over and it doesn't really matter whether you win the Ark, A&M or Bowl game, nows the time to throw him out there and see what he can do. He did that with Jordan Jefferson although it was because Lee got hurt and Jefferson ended up showing something when he got the opportunity and Harris is arguably more talented than Jefferson

I hate this line of thinking. It's retarded. You don't just say 'frick it' because you're no longer in the running to win the conference. You try to win every game. Not saying Jennings is the better option, but to say we shouldn't care about winning a bowl game?? I'm sure the players share your sentiment.

People are being too reactionary and impatient with the QB situation.

If you read between the lines, it's pretty clear what the situation is-

Harris is the better prospect, and the intended future starter. He is also a true freshman, and doesn't really understand the offensive playbook or any of the reasoning behind it. Jennings knows the playbook a lot better than Harris, at least.

Think of Cameron's offense as similar to an advanced mathematics class. There are complicated formulas he has to work;

Harris does not yet know enough to work that problem at the basic level, while Jennings does. The coaches expect and plan that Harris will be the better QB, once he does learn the background enough to run things. So, this year, Jennings is the starter, and prepares for each game. Harris practices the generic principles of the offense and is being brought up to speed. Harris would likely not have ever seen the field, but we don't have a viable #2 QB since Rivers transferred.

It does no good to throw Harris out there, giving him a very limited gameplan list of plays, if the plan all along was to pull him aside and teach him the whole thing. Jennings probably has known this the whole time, and his early season meltdown was likely a result of pressing too hard, trying to get back into the longterm plan. Apparently Les and Cam have been able to corral that, and convince him that he's not going to be an elite QB no matter where, but running the team now will make him a valuable experienced backup and team leader going forward... and he would still get the same rings Harris would in the future.

This season was never going to be a championship season. That's just the way it is; but when Harris is ready, then this team can make a run.
