What is on the menu for Thanksgiving? I know it has been done to death, but these are interesting threads to me.

AlmaDawags: Brined turkey, spiral sliced ham, smoked deer sausage, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, oyster dressing, broccoli casserole, sweet potato souffle, spinach madeline, crescent rolls, deviled eggs, cheese cake, pumpkin pie. Menu virtually unchanged except for the spinach and deer sausage in my 43 years.

We hare have most of that too but I'm adding stuffed artichokes this year.

Actual Thanksgiving will likely be menu choice at Birmingham Waffle House.

Explanation?

Picking up youngest son in Birmingham Thursday morning and will stop wherever he wants on drive back home. He is a big waffle house fan and there are none of those dining establishments in Pittsburgh so I thought I'd make it special for him.

OK, we will have our Thanksgiving on Friday when other son gets here.

I have little idea or concern past the smoked turkeys, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy and a spoonful of cranberry sauce. I'll have a little sweet potato pecan cassarole , too.

Tomorrow night, we'll have shrimp creole. My mother is having a nostalgic craving.

Thursday morning, we go to a party.

We eat Thursday night. I don't know everything we're having. We're pretty traditional. I meant to make oyster dressing, but I just won't have the time.
Turkey
Roasted turkey stock gravy
Grand marnier cranberry sauce
Cornbread dressing
Squash and andouille dressing
Spinach mad
Sweet potatoes with praline pecan topping
Other sides
Pecan pie and other desserts
Many libations.

The regulars.

Turkey
Ham
Green bean casserole
Homemade soup
And I don't know what else.

Fortunately I don't have to do cook anything. I just hope the weather allows me to travel later today.
