what groups are these that you're talking about
they have a lot of overlap, but they have an almost national network in prisons across the US
the national socalist movement is a really big org with a lot of splinter orgs that i wouldn't frick with, personally
neo nazi groups are often more secluded and localized, with some overhanging association (like the NSM) with loose ties connecting the groups. they don't go for publicity like the KKK of old, and are much more behind the scenes.

Posted by SpidermanTUba The kkk was never relevant to most white people like yourself. Nothing to see here! Move along!
No matter how loudly you scream, "Durr KKK is gunna get ya durr," it won't make it any more true.
No matter how much you want it or how hard you try, the KKK will never become relevant again.
Sorry to disappoint you.

I believe that to be true. I've lived in the south ny entire life and have NEVER heard a white person embrace the klan.

I hope you're right. Right now they're detestable but impotent. But there's no guarantee that it will stay that way.

You're not very good at making a point, are you?

I won't give up on him though. I have faith.

Are you capable of any type of rational discussion or are you only capable of juvenile sarcasm?

Your contributing efforts are noted.

tuba argues like a conspiracy theorist
he finds one small aspect of a point to try to create a "gotcha" that may not be related to teh point itself, but in his mind, if he can find one small gotcha, then the entire point will be discredited
so like you see the quote leading to this discussion tree. he focussed on the "white" part of the sentence. now syntax originally did not require this to be included in the comment (because of course white supremacists will be white), but it doesn't negate the point itself. tuba's comment tries to "gotcha" the comment by making the inclusion of "white" seem absurd. in his mind, the "gotcha" is used to discredit the point while avoiding discussing the point itself
i'm sure there is a technical term for this

I think he's functionally retarded, myself.
He claims to have more degrees than a thermometer, yet his post history (even when he's not being intentionally ridiculous) reeks of someone who has to wear shoes with Velcro fasteners or slip-ons.

a functionally retarded person couldn't pick that sentence to find a "gotcha" to try and attack the point of the sentence
his though process just has pathologies and he's likely socially rewarded in his peer group for that behavior, giving him positive reinforcement for the behavior. add in confirmation bias to go with this groupthink-reinforcement method, and his entire way of thinking is foreign to somebody not within that group

Functionally retarded may have been a bit of an overstatement.
I think what I was trying to describe was someone who may be academically brilliant in some field...yet can barely find the front door of his own house without assistance. That's how I see Tuba.
A lot of his own anecdotes (provided they aren't bullshite) tend to reinforce this picture.

When I worked at Los Alamos National Lab many of the scientist were exactly as you are describing. More than once we had to save them from accidentally killing themselves.

So true! You easily alternate between thinking "Thank God our country has this guy on our side," and "What the hell was he thinking?"
I watched one such chap knock himself out cold by walking full bore into a F-15 radome.

There's an intersection near my house where the traffic signs are screwed up in that no one has right-of-way. Visibility is great in all directions. People regularly ignore the stop signs. I haven't seen an accident there in 30 years.
A state trooper starts hanging out behind some bushes and begins writing tickets to errbody. Subsequently I notice several bullet holes in the sign. After somebody takes a shotgun to it, they replace the sign and the troopers keep writing tickets. Next thing I know, somebody runs over it with a coal truck. They replace the post and slap a new sign on it. Keep writing tickets.
And then the unthinkable happened. Somebody took a rattle can and spray painted a swastika on the sign. The local newspaper suggested this was the work of a smoldering hotbed of Nazi skinheads. One well-meaning soul took a can of paint thinner and tried to erase it, but wound up taking all the paint off down to the metal which actually made a bigger swastika.
They replace the sign. The cops quit hanging out there. The "Nazi skinhead" problem goes away. Still haven't seen any accidents.
As CLM would say, there is a want. In liberal groups, any sign of KKK/neo-Nazi activity triggers a collective orgasm.
