The recent thread on these has me shopping for a pair or two, however, there are so many different options.
I live in central MS, and looking for something very warm for those elusive good n cold days (20,s)for hunting.
Thanks

There are different ones. I bought some last year and LOVE them. Bought a second pair and they ended up not being quite the same so gave those to wife for house.
Then I went back and bought another pair like I had. The color pattern was what helped me find a second pair like my first. Stupid, I know, but I got lucky.

I like Vermonts Darn Tough socks. I were the thinner athletic style. Really good for hiking. There are some thicker models also.
Also has a lifetime warranty.

Yes thin merino wool liner socks plus good smart wool socks are the ticket.

Darn tough period.
Smart wool if you don't have access to darn tough
Take the boots that you are going to wear try on the socks with the boot buy wool ones that are not too thick that give you some room if they are tight on your feet in the boot they will be cold regardless of what brand u buy. In 20 deg you should be fine with ant work weight if the boots fit properly.
