Harris will play when he's ready...and he will be AWESOME

lighten up folks! When he takes the field he WILL be ready. And he will have an awesome game! And he very likely will be the future we are looking for.
It may be this week. It may be in another year. He will not transfer.
sure, I'd like to know all the reasons and I get frustrated too when all we get is canned (often unintelligible) sound bites. But I do not believe our coaches are morons like many of you guys profess.
Harris has put his trust in the coaching staff as he should, and has stated many times that he will continue to work his tail off to ensure that when he takes the field again, it WILL be different. He will create the opportunity to enable more creativity, just like Mett did.
He knows he wasn't ready at Auburn and admitted it. He took personal accountability even though the conditions around him (OL in particular were not favorable for his success). I see that more clearly now.
Here's Les's choice.
Option 1: Listen to the fans and put him in with a low probability of success (a combination of not being ready AND (more importantly) not having the OL to enable his success), thus risking a Lee scenario of shattered confidence
Option 2: acknowledge what we all knew to be the case...a rebuilding year and unleash him in 2015 or sooner if he and the OL can ensure his success.
Call me a pumper if you like, or an idiot, or whatever other insults you want to throw at me. I really don't give a shite. I care more about my Tiger's success which will be around long after many of you decide to bail on this team.

Is this serious? Low probability of success? it doesnt get much worse than AJ...literally.

1) We have a young OL next year.
2) Will we be rebuilding next year too?

They could've had him ready this year had they developed a system to help him succeed. Like 4 wides and 5 wides, find the open guy, if it isn't there take off and use your speed.
LSU's offense has complex terminology and plays, on passing at least. Cam runs it like pro offense which is hard to grasp, from a theory and terminology standpoint.
Sticking Harris or Jennings for that matter into under center drop back, 2 tight formations is just plain stupid.
They needed to go with Harris and go Vince Young or Michael Vick offense. Shotgun and go. They're too hung up on doing it "their" way.

It's hard to be ready when you don't ever get a chance to play.

None of what you said justifies not playing Harris in the 2nd half against Ark. We burned a year of his eligibility. There was nothing to lose. The game was lost.
I don't know if Harris will develop or not. But not playing him in that situation baffles me beyond belief. Makes me think something else is going on between Miles and Harris.

This theory that he needs to get meaningful snaps so he'll be better next years drives me crazy. Harris was strongly recruited by Cam, so they are tied at the hip. Without Cam, Harris probably isn't even here. When Cam feels Harris is ready to be the #1 option, he will play. Les and Cam are in agreement that Harris is not ready at this moment.

Question: whose confidence would you rather shatter now-aJs or Harris's?
I really don't think the negatigers think about any of this...just run with their impulsive rage on the basis of shallow arguments

false dichotomy.
Who says we have to shatter someones confidence?

Why does his confidence have to be shattered? Is Kyle Allen's confidence sbattered after he was given 2 starts? Seemed like he played better the 2nd time.
You are trying to defend a thought process that doesn't make sense.

I'm not dismissing the coaches inability to have the conditions right and Harris prepared. Squarely on them no doubt.
But that's not what I'm defending. I'm defending a decision to not risk the future by making some impulsive decision right now because the fans are pounding their feet with a little temper tantrum.

You are absolutely correct. This board has ALWAYS screamed to put the freshman/sophomore QB in. He is always better
RP > Flynn
JJ > Lee
Hell people were calling for Jennings > Mett before 2013
and now BH > BJ
its always the same shite different players. Although you are correct, you're pissing in the wind here

Then why burn a year of Harris' eligibility?

Did they have a Jr ahead of them that started all but 1 game the previous season?
That was my worse fear coming into the season, that Jennings would get the starting job and that Les wouldnt remove him.

Who on Gods green earth would put a future star behind this OL (who started miserably but are developing well), especially now down 2?

quote:Who the hell else do we have on scholarship behind Jennings? 2 scholarship QBs departed during the Spring. Kragthorpe and the other clipboard holder were not viable options. The mismanagement of the QB position should be questioned more.
Then why burn a year of Harris' eligibility?

I can't wait to see the responses tonight when the kids I'm their dormrooms and frat houses start their temper tantrums and the "it's NOT FAIR to Harris "

Cam to Les: Harris is ready, coach.
Les to Cam: I don't think so. You are the OC and the QB coach, what the hell you know.
Cam to Les: Yeah, you're right coach, I don't know shite.
Les to Cam: Now, get out of my office.
Les silently: Where's Jennings?
