The gay conversation will never be shut down. It is a dividing issue and political ppl will continue to use it as such. Civil Right Act has been law for over 50 years and AA's are still trying to say they are being discriminated against. As long as the winning strategy in politics is divide and conquer and ppl vote based on one social issue vs fiscal or foreign policy the converstaion will still exist.

Not to mention the hysteria it would create for SEC Crazy and his brethren in the big business of organized religion.
