re: What do some of you not understand about most of us wanting Harris to start?

But saying it's not about winning is lame. As a competitor, Les knows nothing else but to compete for victory.
I get this statement, what I said is out of context, of course I want us to win the games ahead, but as for the QB competition or lack thereof, its not about Harris winnings the games for us, its about getting him some game time. Sorry if you were confused. I just dont see where Harris would do any worse than Jennings that would cost us these last 2 games.

If Les honestly thinks jennings gives the team a better chance at winning than harris then I have to question miles decision making and coaching with these two qb's.

You might have a point. He was knock out good in the game he started, wasn't he?
Posted on 11/20/14 at 9:47 am to monsterballads
Exactly. I have to question his brains as well, how smart do you habe to be to realize that your current QB just isnt very good?

Jennings was awesome in that game too. And scored lots of points.

you have the ones that bring up the auburn game as if to say that:

1. Harris hasn't learned anything from that experience
How does anyone know? He hasn't played since.

2. jennings did better than harris in said auburn game
Harris
3-14-0 21.4% 58 56.23
Jennings
5-10-0 50.0% 84 120.56
I completely understand the argument for letting Harris play. It would at least be SOMETHING to try to give what has been an otherwise terrible offense a spark. My only issue is that I don't think just changing the QB with nothing more is the fix for LSU's woes. The problem is with the offensive approach/game plan. If it was just on the QB then this year would be a deviation from a string of otherwise effective offensive years. The reality is that this year looks more or less like 4 of the 5 past seasons of poor offense at LSU. The QBs change. The poor offensive play remains the same.

Jennings has scored 2 passing TDs in the past 3 games, not exactly lighting the world on fire. Plus how fair is it that 1 guy gets 1 chance and he doesnt have a great game so pull him for the rest of the year, but the other gets to screw up and have less than mediocre games the rest of the year and yep hes our guy.

What game did Jennings play well?
Any one, any one will do.....

Beyond all of the stats and everything else, the kid Harris needs more game experience. Throw all the other crap out the window. We have seen enough from Jennings to know exactly what hes about.

How do you know he is better? How many practice sessions have you attended? How many team meetings have you attended?
I think this is the only possible way to still defend Les
all reason has gone out the door, so now they're just left with the blanket statements about how you're not a coach

does anyone see jennings getting much better? I think we've honestly seen his ceiling at this point. he's been on campus for two years.

we're not coaches, but we do have eyes and see the product on the field.
i guess they keep points for a reason on the scoreboard right?

I'm not defending Les, but playing QB is more than handing off the ball or throwing a pass. Managing the huddle, understanding defensive fronts, understanding defenses in general, understanding the checks/audibles, clock management, and playing under control, just to name a few.
Sure he is a more talented player than Jennings, that is not even a question. But Cam and Les know if he is able to recognize the things I mentioned better than Jennings at this point. Harris is Cam's recruit. Cam had to have him and recruited him hard. You guys don't think that Cam wants "his" guy to take over? When Cam thinks the kid is ready, he'll play.

I dont care who starts, I just want A&M to kick the shite out of us.

Let me give you a hypothetical:
Assume for the same of argument that Miles wants to develop Harris as a player, as Tiger and as a young man. Let's also assume that Miles and his staff have determined that it would be detrimental to these goals to start Harris right now (in the A&M game). Finally assume that the probability of victory over TAMU would be approximately equal with either quarterback or slightly better with Harris (say 55/45 split).
What would your suggestion to Miles be?

My suggestion would be to let Jennings play the first 2 series, no matter how good or bad, bring Harris in on the 3rd series and let him play until halftime. If he isnt doing so great then Let Jennings start the first 2 or 3 series after the half and then bring Harris back in again. That is how I would handle it and suggest it to old arse in the hat

What makes you think that Harris is better than Jennings?
I don't know If he's "better" but I surely believe he isn't worse. Have you watched LSU this season? Look at the State game. You say BH got those yards/stats in garbage time? Ok, BUT it's not like AJ was doing anything during that same "garbage period". The game was well in hand by the time BH came in & AJ sure wasn't moving the offense or scoring against the subs. NMS game. Did you not see that game? AJ was so lost & in over his head, against NMS! BH came in & looked like a Heisman qb against the SAME team. Auburn...ok, BH looked lost & in over his head but what did AJ do against the same team, although he played against a team that had taken it's foot off the gas for the entire second half.
The only thing fans have to base their assessments on is gameday production &, comparing the two leads me to believe that BH is capable of producing the same results as a two year system guy with more game experience so why not give him a shot? We know what AJ is capable of with experience, let's see if BH can improve with experience. It's not about BH being better, it's about the fact that he can't be much worse so why not give him experience & see if he could be better.

Some of you people are to stupid to get out of your own way.
You demand elite, get your damn checkbooks out, go to the AD office and pay for elite.
