I don't go all the way down to my chest, if I can help it I don't drop down below a 45 degree angle. I also do not fully extend on the way up

i split my sternum doing bench all the way down.

Dead hang/ chest to bar pull ups are a different exercise than a kipping pull up.

Serve totally different functions

I'm not small at all, but I just don't see the point in trying to build giant muscles and strength.

I work in an office with a suit on. I don't want to add weight, I'm already 200 lbs. I like to burn weight with cardio and keep my core strong without using weights. Also like to stay limber with stretching.

Strength training is a proven longevity potentator. It affects the expression of the DNA, improves hormone balance, strengthens ligaments and bones. Why the hate for lifting?

I do agree core work, cardio and self weight moves do work, but the body adapts so fast to these movements that within 30 days, the effect is stabilized and improvement halts. The only way to improve your body is through gradual changes. Adding 10-20lbs of weight to a bench over a 3 month period is a smart way to do it. The problem with most lifters is they add weight too fast, before form is solid. That does create injuries. Lower weights and solid form though do improve health, LBM and ultimately lifespan.

You're right it doesn't, but they become gross looking.

Their excess skin just looks like fat. And they continue their caloric intake that their body can't burn anymore and get fat as consequence.

Just easier to say it turns into fat.

Wait, what?

I never said anything about Yoga. I think you're mistaken.

Yoga is fricking impossible. I tried a couple times with my wife and couldn't do it. Would love to learn to be better at it though, its great for you.

I am limber, stretch often but also do strictly compound lifts with heavy barbells and dumbbells. It's not for everyone, but it's ok to want to stay strong and be strong. The guys that are 280 lbs and have 27% bodyfat, yet load the bar with 600 lbs to do squats and yell like their sack is on fire are the ones that I dont get (if they arent competing). Why would you want to put all that work to get that strong but look like shite? To each their own though. I completely get where the OP is coming from. Dont load the bar with more weight than you can handle then half rep it and get up with a "Im a badass" attitude. No youre not. You have rep light weight. If you like to take the bodyweight exercise routine and feel you can keep your strength up with it, then great. Dont knock people that actually like to lift weights.

People who are 280 squatting 600 aren't competing, they about 300#s away from that.

But I agree with the rest of your post, to each their own. As long as you're trying to keep yourself in decent shape who cares how you go about it.
