re: Some amazing stats regarding Holiday

Crowing about Holiday being better than 2 rookies is silly. That was the whole point of the trade- no gestation period. I would hope he outperforms them right now. And he has been good this year.
Some context though:
Noel is putting up 8/8 w/ 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists (3 TOs) PER 36. For a rookie big, that's a solid start. His offense is a mess, but that is expected.
Payton is already good, 5 Reb, 7 Ast, 2 Stl PER 36. He just can't shoot. That may kill his potential, but he is doing lots of other things that make him useful.
Both of those guys need time, like all rookies. The Pelicans didn't want to wait and made moves accordingly.
The pissing contest about the trade is stupid right now. I see "experts" like Fisher and McNamara bring it up only after Holiday has a good game. Didn't see much chatter after the stinker in Portland. The reality is both teams can "win" the trade. Sixers and the Pels had different motives and have different goals. Let's see what happens over the next couple of years

You always cherry pick stats to fit your argument...

It definitely is about the opportunity cost, what other trades could we have made instead.

The funny thing is I'm pretty sure McNamara said early and often when the trade went down you shouldn't judge it based on Noel vs. Holiday and made the opportunity cost argument.

It's stupid in the future too. I don't think we were ever going to keep Noel. That pick was getting traded one way or another. The question really is what else we passed up to get Jrue. Could we have gotten Rondo? Could we have gotten a young veteran starting SF for just the 2013 pick and then drafted Elfrid Payton to be our PG of the future? Could you have still signed Tyreke, let him be the PG and then traded the 2014 pick for Afflalo.
Tyreke/Smith
Afflalo/Rivers
Jeff Green(or another SF trade target)/2015 1st
AD/Ryno
Asik/Scrub
That's a long and offensively potent lineup, although it might be lacking defensive speed on the perimeter. But I can't say it's definitely worse than where I hope we will be next year:
Holiday/Smith
Tyreke/Rivers
Green/2015 1st
AD/Ryno
Asik/Scrub

Pretty funny. Like no one is familiar with NBA rookies. Go back and look at Hall of Fame players' rookie seasons, tons of players "struggle". It's called growth.
People yapping about Noel: leads all rookies in rebounds, blocks, and steals... 9 games into his career Tons of posters here are going to be so wrong on this guy
And Payton never could shoot, probably never will. He's still filling up the box score every night. He's going to be one of the better all around PGs in the NBA in the coming years. People judging his career after 13 games if laughable
