Looking to have a good home surveillance system installed. Wondering if anyone on the Tech board has had one installed in Baton Rouge. If so what company would you recommend and what is the going rate for one of these systems. I'm looking for around 8 cameras or so.

We had a similar thread back when this board opened. You may find some useful information in it. LINK
I don't know your budget, but having 8 cameras installed in your house will likely cost a lot. That is a lot of cable runs. I ended up doing mine by myself, b/c of the quotes I had received. One of the quotes was from LATECH in Baton Rouge. I think it was roughly $2,200 for an 8 channel DVR with only 500GB of storage and 4 cameras installed. Another quote (can't remember who) was about $1,800 for a 4 channel dvr with 4 cameras installed. I ended up installing a higher end system for less. It is seemingly limitless what you can spend on these systems.

I installed this one myself recently, inexpensive, but the 700tvl cameras have a much better picture than I expected. Includes app to log in from phone or on any computer, easy to use interface and definitely worth the $.
Contact the seller and he will swap out some of the outdoor cameras for indoor, just tell him how many of each you need.
