I agree.
I'm that peckerwood who takes up the merge lane as soon as the dashed stripes end.
I hate people that merge into a backed up lane of traffic, and then try and leap four or five cars by getting into the ending merge lane and then getting back over.
Really only an issue on left entrances to the interstate, which we have a lot of here.

so you increase congestion by taking up two usable lanes when both lanes should be used?
I understand doing that if assholes are trying to pass in the shoulder or an incomplete lane, but what you're doing is way more illegal than what they're doing.
