Is LSU testing out a new helmet or something?

I've never seen a facemask come off before in my life and it's happened twice this season. Are we testing a new helmet where the facemask gives way easier for some freaking reason?

I know they are testing some new sensors that measured how hard hits impacted them but IDK if that would cause the facemask to come off.

Yes. Breakaway facemasks that protect the player from injury.

I was wondering that same thing.

those were mouthpieces if I'm not mistaken

That makes sense. Plus it makes it harder for an opponent to get away with a facemask.

Makes sense, good to see LSU taking leading edge steps to protect the players.

The breakaway facemask was originally designed so that the SEC refs can clearly call a face mask penalty against our opponents.

Breakaway masks are you kidding me?? He was kidding... if you pull a players facemask off and he keeps running what the frick do you think will happen when a shoulder comes in and finishes him off? Crush his face.

We did get some new Revo Speed 360 helmets in this year, and that could possibly be the problem. I believe that is what Fournette and Jennings wear too.

The equipment department probably got a bad batch of plastic face mask fasteners.

It's got to be something with our equipment. I don't see other schools' players having their faces exposed because their facemask failed.

Damn how do you know that?

someone else got their facemask ripped off?

You have no clue. Yes, there are new breakaway facemask. They are designed to prevent neck and spine injuries. Some high schools are also using them.

While this is probably a joke post, I think it's a pretty good idea to use that as a barometer to show that a facemask penalty should be called.

Unless the opponent is Alabama, apparently.
