Also it is my understanding that within the next year or so the subsidized plans will go away completely and your only option will be to buy the phone outright or use the Edge program (which is a pretty name for financing your phone).
Verizon is doing a lot right now to compete with the killer deals being offered by AT&T and T-mobile. My bill just got reduced by $20 per month for the same amount of data. I am getting 10 gb per month for 2 lines for $110 a month. I was paying $150 with my unlimited for both lines.
That's where I am at now for two lines, $110/mth. Then tack on all the gov't charges and other crap.
That Edge plan is why I want to get my phone upgraded before I am forced onto it. I did look into it and the "Edge Fee" for most phones I would want is under $25. That's important because on the Edge plan your monthly line access charge is reduced by $25/mth if you are on a plan over 10GB ($40 to $15 per line). So, in effect everything washes out and my monthly bill will remain the same. At least that is the way I am reading it. Maybe I should just go on the Edge Plan right now if there will be no difference?
