Very hard not to root for this guy. He also embraces this city and I would think this tragedy would be a big part of that embrace.
hope he stays around for a long long time.

Wow, what a story. I was fully expecting for Ryan to miss a lot of last season, if not all, and I wouldn't have blamed one at all if he did.
I guess if you're returning after a situation like that, Aminu, the most emotionless person on the planet, is the right person to run into.
quote:
One fall morning he forced himself to return to the practice center. The first player he saw in the hallway was Al-Farouq Aminu, a lanky forward from Atlanta. Ryan steeled himself for the questions, the sympathetic tone. Aminu just nodded. “What’s up, man?” he said.

Incredible story and Monty sounds like a genuine person, the part where he slept in the living room with Ryan and was there with him talking when he needed to and such spoke volumes to what kind of a person he is.

Wow that was an amazing article... I have never had so much respect for an athlete before. I'm glad Ryno is a Pelican, much respect to the man after experiencing such a horrifying event

That was a great article. So sad though

As someone who is firmly on team Karl, I gained a ton of respect for Monty reading that article...

I wish Monty was a better coach. He's such a great person.

Great read. When all of this happened I knew he was going through hell, but you really don't understand how bad it is until you get the details (or if you've been through it before I guess). Reading this article, really shows how far Ryno has come through all of this.

Read this earlier today. A very sad read. Ryan Anderson has another fan now.

Screw that girls dad. Wish nothing but the worst for him. Sounds like a grade-A loser. Its crazy the pressure that must have been on a 25 year old Ryno to be the loving male figure that she never had.
What a despicable piece of shite.
What a despicable piece of shite.
