Khris Middleton put up 12/4/2 and shot 44/41/86 last year in 30 minutes of action.
Great size at 6'8 225.
With parker/illyasova/Giannis he's not needed.

On another note, have you guys seen Jeff Green this year?
20/5/2 shooting 45/38/83
yes but he wants a payday.

The available SFs are not going to be better than Tyreke or Ryno, so it'd be a trade down.
But you trade one of those for some bench help and the net result may be positive.

What, the Middleton/Dudley thing?
It'd take more than Rivers and filler to land that.

That's what MLE and ring chasing vet minimums are for. Why do you need the team to be complete this season? Did you drop a lot of money on season tickets or something, you've been pretty upset at the incomplete state of the team in year 3 of rebuilding around a 21 year old.

So lets send Ryan Anderson for bench players...
I really hope we don't panic and move Reke or Ryno. Ryno would pull a good price, but the guy is probably the best 6th man.. Gonna have to roll with the roster this year and next(with hopefully some slight improvements). Then put the championship roster together in summer 2016

Now you are putting words in my mouth.
How dare I have a differing opinion than you, sorry ATL, won't happen again.
ETA: For the record, it's not a rebuilding mode when you trade 3 straight 1st round draft picks. That's very clearly "win now" mode.

No it wouldn't
Middleton is very upset there at how things are going down. Dudley has barely had any PT(less than 20 min per game).
This would net the bucks 2 expirings for 2 guys that aren't in their plans.
With parker/ilyasova/giannis and other wings they're on the outside.

ATL, can we offer Ryno more money than other teams when his contract is up?

Not trying to, but your complaints have been pretty strong and consistent so I was curious as to why you had such high expectations that the roster should be more balanced than it is based on where we were coming from.

I think differing opinions are a good thing as long as they are backed by reasonable arguments. I've often changed my opinion on this board after a differing opinion leads me to do some research that shows my previous assumptions were wrong.

Yes, we will have his bird rights and will be able to offer him more years and bigger raises.

I feel as though I've backed up my arguments for my criticisms as well as anyone else. Why you are choosing to single me out is... odd.
And in case you missed my ETA from the last post, this team is not in rebuilding mode. That ended with the Jrue trade.
Posted on 11/12/14 at 10:49 pm to TigerinATL
Excellent. Turning Gustavo into Ryno was the best thing Dell has ever done...

You have, but I didn't remember the specifics, just the strong sentiments and was seeking clarification. Not trying to give you a hard time

We also have bird rights to Asik as well, so chances are he gets resigned next year..? We roll out the same 5 + anderson next year.. Summer after next season we sign AD, try to resign Ryno, and extra room from cap allows us to bring in a SF & bench depth(EG gone).. Success and AD's greatness should help keep guy and also bring vets in.

If we're not as far ahead as we should be because we made mistakes keeping/acquiring Gordon/Holiday/Evans, we shouldn't compound those mistakes by paying a premium to undo the mistakes now. Why does this season matter? LeBron made the Finals and still left Cleveland. KD has made the Finals and may leave OKC. The AD era being any more meaningful than the CP3 era means keeping your eye on the long term prize and being a contending team in 5 years. I'm actually a little concerned that Monty/Demps may make a rash move if they feel pressure to keep their jobs.

I'm not even thinking about this in terms of keeping AD happy. To me, it's all about what puts the best product on the court, long term, which just so happens to be keeping AD here as long as possible. I see the roster that is being built around him and, to me, it's just so flawed.
The three biggest moves in terms of cap affect with Demps are matching PHX to keep Gordon, trading for Jrue and trading for Reke. Not only has brought in 3 ball-dominant guards into the starting 5, but it also handicapped the team with the long term deals and lost draft picks, which has led to a shitty bench and no real room to improve until Gordon comes off the books after next season and/or Asik doesn't ink a long term deal following this season.
From a purely basketball perspective, AD doesn't get nearly enough touches that he should because he's mostly running with Jrue, Evans and, to a lesser extent, Gordon who need the ball in their hands to make an impact. Yeah AD is putting up ridiculous lines night in and night out, but tonight he only put the ball up 16 times. He should, at minimum, be taking 22 shots every game, but with the way this roster has been put together, that won't always be the case, which is not good at all.
In my opinion, the Asik trade was the first move that Demps made that really seemed like he was building around Davis. A true center that bangs down low and grabs every board on either side of the floor allows Davis to roam around and play his more natural role. The only real downside of it is that it cost us a third straight 1st round pick and he could easily bail after 1 season. Hopefully, more moves that compliment Davis will be coming along, but with our cap and draft situation, there will have to be strings pulled.

Asik is the 2nd most important piece to the puzzle in my opinion.

Agreed. It gives our team more defensive leeway for AD to be everywhere, as opposed closer to the rim. It gives AD more space on offense because someone has to account for a post player. He can play more aggressive on defense and know that a solid defender has his back.
I don't think we get that with Noel and I think they realized that 2 years ago.

There was probably pressure to keep Gordon from higher up and his upside at the time was very high so It made some sense why.
Jrue trade was fine, the 2013 draft was dreadful and we gave up a 10th pick that was used on a fricking euro. Yes that 10th pick may have been nice but it's such a clusterfrick.
Reke has played at a near all star level so I don't see the issue.

So has PHX pretty much. Jrue/EG aren't ball-dominant,tyreke is the only one.

Long term deals that are far lower than what we would've had to shell out for parsons/hayward etc. Gordon isn't going to be here long term and Asik is a big piece of the puzzle.
We'll have big money in 2016.

Jrue has played mostly off ball and his usg rate is actually quite low(31st among PGs). AD is fourth in usage rate.
Gordon has been taking outside shots and playing outside D so he's fine without the ball.

He's so efficient at scoring that's not needed. Maybe a couple of more shots but why complain about 25/12 a game with the highest PER in the modern ERA?
Yes there could be adjustments but I like what i saw tonight.

Agreed and it's worked great.

We have his bird rights and by all accounts he likes it here. We could easily keep that pick too, even if we don't who cares about an 18th pick?

Making some small moves to help the bench would be good.
